They Can See Through Your Cloths!

Every time you go to the airport you go three hours before your flight. This is because of all the time you have to spend waiting in lines to get through security. Now image if that time could be cut down by one machine. That would be great and you could sleep for another hour before having to leave for the airport. There is only one problem; the machine is a new type of scanner that virtually strips searches you. This might not seem so bad but I forgot to mention that the scanner is so precise that it can see through your cloths. Now does this machine still sound acceptable for another hour of sleep?

You do not have to worry about these new scanners yet because they are only in the testing phase. They are only two of this type of scanner in America at the Los Angeles airport and the John F. Kennedy airport in New York. The US Transportation Security Administration plans on buying at least 30 more scanning devices and spread them throughout the country to the busiest of airports. These scanners are only to help increase security measures they are not to invade on people’s privacy. The security guards do give you a choice to either walk through the scanner or be physically body searched. So I am pretty sure that the majority of people would rather have a computer scan their bodies instead of a person putting their hands all over you.

Ok let me explain in a little more detail about the scanner. When you first see it is just looks like a giant metal box. When enter it just imagine being placed inside of a computer scanner except this scanner can create 3D representations of items. Yes, it can make a 3D replica of your body and then show the security guards if you are holding something you should not be. The scanner actually beams electromagnetic waves at your body to get the image. It does repeatedly beam your body until it has made a complete revolution about your body. Then the computer takes all the images and creates a three dimensional view of your body. The electromagnetic waves allow security guards to see under your cloths to help reveal any hidden metallic object.

You are completely naked in the image but there is an added feature to the scanner that blurs the head of the person being scanned. Also the people viewing the scans are not the ones right there next to it, so the security team has tried to add some privacy to the scans. Right after the scan is over the image is deleted and there is no trace left for someone to steal. I am not sure if I would want to go through the scanner just because I would not want someone to see my larger features, but that is just my opinion. So make the decision for yourself because these new scanners will be across America very soon.

Sorry if I frighten anyone with this kind of information but I am telling you this so that you know the technology is out there.
